The report tells how Curtis "50 Cent" was presented with an opportunity of getting paid in cryptocurrency 4 years back and currently, he is just reaping the benefits from his "once wise decision", which amount to over $7mln as per the rate depicted on the current exchanges.
He is known to be the first rapper who began accepting payments in Bitcoin and it was for his fifth music album called "Animal Ambition" which was released back in 2014. The price of the album copy was $5.50 which was equivalent to 0.0088 BTC back in 2014. That year this genius believer made about 700 bitcoins which were worth $400,000 according to 2014 statistics. It was all "unexpected" investment and the rapper kept all his bitcoins intact without selling any of them and now it is 2018 and these are still held by him. Now if we look at price figures the currency has grown enormously and with the current trading price of $11,000, "50 Cents" 700 coins amount to more than $7 mln.
The rapper took to Twitter to validate the news of his triumphant ‘Hodling’ on Twitter:
"A little bitcoin anyone? LOL. l know l make you sick but excuse me...I’m getting to the bag #denofthieves"
He also posted on Instagram: “Not Bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me,” asserting that it had skipped his mind that he even owned the coins.
TMZ.com declares that 50 Cent might consider twice about bartering his coins presently as the entire cryptocurrency market has dwindled considerably over the past month, it may be useful for "50 Cent" to sit it out, and of course, he can manage it.
