Interview with Jade Mulholland from Nexus Social ICO

Interview with Jade Mulholland from Nexus Social ICO

Q1. Hello Jade, thank you for your time. To start the conversation, can you explain to us in a few words, What is Nexus and what is Social?

Thanks for having me. Of course!

Nexus is a social network built on modern technologies that alsointegrates popular features of e-commerce and crowdfunding. Thenetwork primarily concentrates on privacy, control of settings, security and listening to the voice of the community.Nexus is a platform that is already available to the public to sign upand use on iOS, Android and the web.

The network will contain its very own native cryptocurrency to be used for all purchases, called Social. SCL can be used to buy goods and services from other users, purchase ad spaces from the integrated ad platform, donate to crowd funding campaigns, spend as fiat with our instant access debit card and much more.

Q2. What do you mean by private decentralized social network? Can you explain the difference from Facebook?

Facebook, and most other social networks for that matter, collect and retain all user data on centralized servers. This means that large corporations control and own everything you post, see and do.

Nexus is a new generation of social network. All data and uploads will exist on the blockchain instead of centralized servers. Nexus is a feature rich platform that allows you to communicate with friends and family in multiple different and unique ways, while providing state-of-the-art security and privacy.

Nexus is giving the power back to the people.

Q3. Can you tell us your vision for the next 3 years with respect to the project?

Nexus has come a very long way so far, but still has a very long way to go. We have the fundamentals in effect that are useable right now on the web and mobile. Over the next 2-3 years we hope to expand both our support and development team.

In regards to the platform itself, we hope to integrate advanced features such as a secure ERC20 multi-wallet with built in ShapeShift, instant access debit card, Tor API integration, built in VPN, end-to-end message encryption, and moving all data and multimedia updates to decentralized storage.

Q4. Can you brief us about your core team?

The core development team consists of Mo and myself. I’m a full stack JavaScript developer specializing in Angular and NodeJS. I developed both the front and back end of Nexus, along with both mobile applications. Mo assists with Solidity development for our smart-contracts, along with database and backend assistance.

We also have Selena, Sara and Kelly who are all part of our core team.  Selena is the head of all public relations and business communications for Nexus.Sara is the lovely lady on the other side of the screen answering all customer support enquires.Kelly is the second half of our Nexus support team - she leads social media posts, instant messages and also assists with marketing.

Our advisory board consists of Frank Bonnet and Hansco Leek. Frank is the founder and lead developer of DCORP (https://dcorp.it), a project that rose more than $5million USD in their ICO. Frank provides us with his Solidity development experience for our smart-contracts. Hansco is also part of the DCORP team, and advises with service management and business relations.

Q5. Why are you doing an ICO?

We’re hosting an ICO to get Social coins out to the general public. Funds raised during the ICO will help us further develop Nexus. Funds will also be allocated to legals, security audits and strong marketing campaigns to raise awareness about Nexus.

Q6. Can you tell us more about the Nexus Debit card and where it can be used?

The Nexus Debit Card is an instant access real-world gateway to your Social coins. The card will allow a user to spend their SCL at any retailer that accepts Visa. We are adopting a technique calls JITF (Just in Time Funding). This means that SCL is sold for the requested fiat on request for the best rate. If the user swipes their card at a terminal, our server checks to see if their account has enough SCL to pass the transaction. If so, SCL is instantly sold for fiat, fiat moved to card, and the transaction is then approved.

Q7. What are the benefits for the early investors?

By getting in early, investors will have the chance to be the first in the world to hold Social coins. As more users join Nexus, the demand for Social will increase, while the total amount of coins will never exceed 50 million. Different bonus rates are offered for the entire ICO period, so early investors will get more SCL for their contributed ETH. If a participant contributes 10 ETH during the first day of the ICO, they will get a 50% bonus, being 7,500 SCL. The value of SCL will increase over time as we announce new features and benefits within Nexus. SCL can then be spent as fiat with the Nexus Debit Card, used to purchase goods and services from other users from the integrated marketplace, or traded for ad spaces within the Nexus ad platform.

Thanks and I wish you best of luck.

Thank you! Appreciate you having me.
