1. Ethereum (ETH):

Ethereum is the most popular and efficient cryptocurrency introduced in the year 2013, which is open-source, decentralized and efficient world computing platform which has many additional functionalities such as Smart contracts and EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine). 30+ global brands like Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, etc have started the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) which brightens the future of the Ethereum blockchain. It works on the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) algorithm and has a total supply of 100 billion tokens. IT has a 1% annual inflation rate. All transactions are done through their web wallet. Like Bitcoin, Zcash is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency generated by mining with a total supply set at 21 million coins. The block time is just 2.5 minutes (four times faster than Bitcoin's).

13. Monero (XMR):

Monero or XMR is an open source decentralized cryptocurrency derived from the Bitcoin which gives emphasis to security, decentralization, and scalability. It is built based on the crypto note protocol. It works on the Proof-of-Work consensus. MOnero provides privacy in three ways namely ring signatures, ring CT, and Stealth addresses. It does not have a heavily coded maximum block size which helps in improving scalability.

14. NEM - Distributed Ledger Technology (XEM):

Nem is an open source P2P cryptocurrency released in 2015 with many additional features from the traditional blockchain technology. It was released in Java and C++ versions. It introduces a new algorithm known as the Proof-of-Importance (PoI) and multi-sig accounts. It offers high security to the data stored. THe cryptocurrency of the platform is the XEM.
